STOP THE VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN (VAWA) GRANT - LIMITED TERM GRANT FUNDED POSITION
The Office of the States Attorney is currently seeking highly qualified applicant to fill one (1) grant vacancy of a Legal Assistant. The selected candidate will serve as a Legal Assistant for Assistant States Attorneys handling domestic violence cases for the Special Victims Unit. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week.
JOB TITLE: Legal Assistant
SALARY: $55,000.00 (with an hourly rate of $26.4423)
FUNDING PERIOD: October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025
BENEFITS: LTGF employees of this grant are eligible for 40 hours of Sick and Safe leave once the required hours have been completed. Limited Term Grant Funded (LTGF) employees for this grant are not eligible to participate in the Countys health care plans at this time.
LOCATION: Upper Marlboro Courthouse - 14735 Main Street, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772
TYPICAL DUTIES: The Legal Assistant will work with Assistant States Attorneys to perform a full range of legal support activities. These duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION FOR CANDIDATES:
Bachelors degree strongly preferred; High school or equivalent; Ability to effectively use Microsoft 365; Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; Ability to deal tactfully, courteously, and effectively with people; Ability to use diplomacy and discretion in performing assigned office duties.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Candidates must pass a background investigation.
