Staff Accountant – Asset Management (0–2 Years Experience)

Location: Stamford, CT

Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Fund Accounting Analyst. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in hedge fund operations, accounting, and financial reporting within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities will include:

• Prepare journal entries and assist with the month-end close process in the firm’s accounting system
• Reconcile fund-level Net Asset Values against administrator statements and internal records
• Assist in the calculation and review of fees and expenses
• Coordinate with fund administrators to research and resolve reconciliation breaks, trade discrepancies, and operational issues
• Monitor and reconcile cash activity across multiple bank and brokerage accounts
• Track and record capital activity, including investor contributions, redemptions, and transfers
• Support annual audit processes and liaise with external auditors and administrators
• Perform ad hoc analyses, reconciliations, and special projects at the request of senior team members

Qualifications:

· 0–2 years of experience in fund accounting, public accounting, or financial operations

· Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs); experience with accounting systems a plus

· Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills

· Able to work independently and within a small, collaborative team

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

· CPA track a plus
