Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer with 2+ years of ACHD experience, BLS, RCDS or RCS certification, and proficiency in Philips equipment and Epic documentation.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Position is in a cardiovascular echo department of an accredited, academic hospital setting
• Adult congenital heart disease (ACHD) patient population
• Operates Philips ultrasound equipment and documents in Epic EMR
• Work schedule is 5x8 hour day shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• Candidates may float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals
• On-call required with weekday call hours 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM and weekend coverage divided into 12-hour shifts
• Lab provides preliminary reports to physicians and participates in IAC reporting
• Expected to provide accurate preliminary echo reports to physicians
• Lab accredited and participates in IAC reporting standards
• Training modules are completed during orientation and annually
• Call shifts are anticipated to be 2-3 per 6 week schedule period, with 1 hour response time
• Return staff must have been gone for at least 90 days to be eligible for assignment
• RTO (requested time off) must be presented prior to offer
• Candidates must disclose any prior employment at the facility for eligibility check
• First-time travelers considered if requirements are met

\n \n Requirements\n

• Minimum of 2 years specialty experience required; 5 years and academic experience preferred
• Current BLS and either RCDS or RCS certification required
• Experience with adult congenital heart disease (ACHD) required
• Proficiency with Philips ultrasound equipment and Epic documentation required
• Compact or Kentucky state license required at time of submission (license required if applicable)
• No local candidates within a 75 mile radius accepted
• No licensure hits accepted by employer
• At least one reference from a charge nurse or supervisor required at time of consideration
