Solar X LLC is seeking a Solar Service Technician to perform installations, troubleshooting, removal & reinstallation, and maintenance of residential and commercial solar systems. You will work closely with our field operations team to ensure optimal performance of solar installations. This role requires experience in solar installation, the ability to diagnose system issues, and a willingness to work outdoors on rooftops. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Install & Maintain Solar Systems: Perform installations and routine maintenance of solar panels, inverters, and other system components.
  • Troubleshoot & Diagnose Issues: Identify and resolve solar-related issues such as communication or production problems, ensuring optimal system performance.
  • Solar Removal & Reinstallation - Executing solar removal and reinstallations
  • Safety & Tool Handling : Safely handle tools and materials such as ladders (up to 32'), solar panels, and hand tools while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Work at Heights: Comfortably and safely work on rooftops and at heights while ensuring the proper installation and service of solar systems.
  • Material Management : Identify the materials and quantities required for each project, ensuring accuracy and readiness.
  • Collaborate with Field Team: Work directly with field management and report issues, progress, and results to ensure effective service and maintenance of solar systems.

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of solar installation experience required.
  • Experience in solar system service or electrical troubleshooting (preferred).
  • Must be comfortable working outdoors and at heights on rooftops**
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and handle materials safely.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose solar production and communication issues.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be a New Jersey resident with reliable transportation to travel to Solar X headquarters and job sites.
  • Solar certification (NABCEP) or licensed electrician experience (bonus).
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
