Job Summary
The Service Desk Chat Agent is the first point of contact for end users seeking IT support via live chat in a fast-paced 24x7x365 environment. This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service while resolving technical issues efficiently. The agent will manage multiple chat sessions concurrently, utilize knowledge base tools, and maintain detailed documentation to ensure high levels of first contact resolution and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality technical support through live chat for enterprise software and hardware issues.
• Respond to incoming chats, troubleshoot problems, and resolve incidents using ticketing and knowledge base systems.
• Maintain professionalism and empathy while actively listening to customer concerns.
• Document actions taken in ticketing systems for tracking and analytics.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with end users, support teams, and problem management.
• Perform incident triage, research solutions, and educate users on issue resolution.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, safety-focused culture.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and service standards.
• Identify opportunities to streamline and automate chat support processes.
Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED with relevant work experience.
• 2–5 years of chat support experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and self-motivation.
• Ability to manage multiple chat sessions concurrently.
• Experience in technical support roles (preferred).
• Proficiency in using chat platforms, ticketing systems, and basic IT tools.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience in a technical support or IT service desk role.
• Familiarity with enterprise IT environments and support workflows.
