Overview:

McGee & Co. is seeking a strategic and experienced Senior Copywriter to join our in-house creative team and become a pivotal architect of our brand voice. This role demands a passion for crafting impactful e-commerce messaging and editorial content that drives brand awareness, consideration, and loyalty across integrated campaigns.

The Senior Copywriter will lead and mentor the copy team, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality, on-brand copy aligned with strategic objectives. Responsibilities include developing tailored messaging frameworks for promotions, seasonal campaigns, social media, and video content, ensuring resonance with diverse audiences on each platform. Collaboration with the Director of Brand Creative will be essential in establishing and refining brand voice guidelines and integrating AI processes for efficient creative scaling.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in crafting engaging, brand-building copy, a strong understanding of SEO principles, demonstrated experience developing adaptable messaging frameworks, a strategic mindset, and experience leveraging AI tools. Your creative contribution will be instrumental in shaping McGee & Co.'s market positioning as a leader in the home industry.

Responsibilities:

• Establish a copywriting style guide to help build the team and educate internal organizations and external agencies.
• Bring creative-thinking and copywriting strategy to how we address customers across all stages of the customer journey and different platforms.
• Be a strategic advisor to clarify business objectives, define key messages, and differentiate McGee & Co. in the home space.
• Build segments and identify gaps in our existing messaging to suggest ways to strengthen our brand voice.
• Work with designers and/or art directors against creative briefs to develop promotional, multi-channel campaign copy across multiple platforms — for landing pages, social media, paid media, branded events, video, and more.
• Work with digital marketing and SEO agencies to strategize and execute best practices.
• Leverage AI tools to scale creative output
• Write and edit meaningful, action-orientated copy across all channels with a special focus on digital mediums and a mobile-first mentality.
• Proactively manage revisions and reviews. Rigorously proofread and edit every piece of work to deliver the highest-quality deliverables.
• A bias towards brevity and density, with the understanding that quick and clear understanding is the goal for content absorption.
• Support writing and editing content for our employer brand and internal comms.

Skills and Qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience as a writing creative in a marketing, advertising, agency and/or in a corporate environment.
• 3+ years of experience managing a team.
• Experience managing copywriting talent to develop their voice and career through feedback and mentorship.
• Knowledgeable in best SEO practices.
• Experience in creating content messaging systems.
• Experience with working in and developing a copy/brand guide.
