The JobSquad Solutions Team is currently looking for a Road Construction Flagger to work at a company located in the Ann Arbor, MI area!

This seasonal, travel-based position (April to mid-November or December) is perfect for reliable souls who aren’t afraid of a little rain, sun, or fog rolling across the roads.

Shift length: 4 to 14 hours, depending on the weather
Personal vehicle required for travel to job sites
Statewide assignments across Michigan

Pay/hours for position

Hourly pay based on travel distance ONE WAY from your home office:

1. 0–50 miles: $19.00/hr.
2. 51–80 miles: $20.00/hr.
3. 81–99 miles: $21.00/hr.
4. 100+ miles: $26.00/hr.

* We do not provide reimbursement for gas, travel time, or mileage. Your hourly pay rate is determined by the distance from your home office to the job site, calculated using the shortest GPS route.

*Home offices Include: Battle Creek, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Lansing, Jackson, and Mount Pleasant

Requirements of position

What You Need (To Survive the Season)

1. Valid Michigan Driver’s License
2. Reliable personal vehicle (must remain on-site)
3. Proof of Michigan auto insurance (with your name listed)
4. Full-day availability from sunrise to sunset, including weekends.
5. Ability to stand and work in all weather conditions.
6. No OWI or DUI in the past 5 years
7. Willingness to travel up to 100+ miles one way from your home office.

No diploma or previous experience required. We will train you and provide essential safety equipment.

Provided Equipment (Your Safety Spell Kit):

1. MDOT Class 3 Safety Vest
2. Clear and Tinted Safety Glasses
3. Hard Hat
4. Headlamp
5. 2-Way Radio (you provide batteries daily)
6. Poncho
7. Sign and Poles

Required Clothing:

1. T-shirt or long-sleeve shirt (no tank tops)
2. Steel-toed leather boots that cover the ankle.
3. Durable jeans or work pants (no shorts or sweatpants)

Responsibilities of position

Your Responsibilities (A Flagger’s Code):
As a flagger, you are the guardian of the work zone, guiding traffic safely through active construction sites.

1. Control the flow of traffic at construction zones.
2. Direct drivers using signs, paddles, and hand signals.
3. Use radios to communicate with fellow flaggers and supervisors.
4. Stay alert and focused to ensure the safety of the crew and the public.

Breaks and Rest:
Due to the nature of roadwork, scheduled breaks may not always be possible. However, rest periods are encouraged and coordinated with your site lead when conditions allow.
