Job Overview:
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the installation, design, and completion of structured cabling projects. This includes ensuring that the project is delivered on time, within scope, and budget, while meeting client specifications and industry standards. The role involves coordination between multiple stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and work schedules for structured cabling installations.
Coordinate and communicate with clients to understand project requirements and objectives.
Ensure all project documentation, permits, and necessary approvals are in place before commencement.
Lead and manage teams of technicians, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure tasks are completed effectively.
Allocate resources, assign tasks, and oversee the performance of all project personnel.
Provide clear direction and maintain project goals while monitoring the work quality and safety standards.
Manage project budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation and controlling costs.
Track and report on financial performance, including forecasting costs and managing invoices and change orders.
Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective procurement of materials and services.
Oversee site activities to ensure adherence to project specifications, timelines, and safety regulations.
Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings with the client, engineers, and construction teams.
Ensure all installations are performed in line with technical specifications, safety standards, and relevant codes.
Conduct testing, commissioning, and quality assurance of installed systems.
Resolve any technical issues or discrepancies during the installation process.
Act as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Provide regular updates and progress reports, addressing any concerns or changes in scope promptly.
Ensure client satisfaction by delivering projects that meet or exceed their expectations.
Identify potential risks or delays in the project and develop mitigation strategies.
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, reducing potential on-site hazards.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Telecommunications, Project Management, and/or related field.
PMP certification (preferred) or relevant project management certification.
[2+] years of experience in managing structured cabling projects, telecommunications infrastructure, or related fields.
