Position Information Position Number: POST40 Title: Postdoctoral Fellow for Sport Psychology Division: Student Affairs Department: Counseling & Health Services (Administration) Unit: Counseling & Psychological Center Location: Price Center Employment Type: Temporary – Part‑time Hours per week: 40 Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Salary: $50,000 Posting Dates: Open 11/17/2025 – Close 01/08/2026 Responsibilities Provide individual therapy to collegiate student‑athletes. Conduct intake interviews. Perform crisis intervention. Offer outreach and consultation to student‑athletes, coaches, and athletic staff. Consult on team and individual sport performance and clinical/wellness topics specific to student‑athletes. Collaborate with coaches, athletic staff, sports‑medicine colleagues, and student‑athletes regarding behavior, mental health, performance enhancement, counseling, and education. Receive weekly clinical supervision. Participate in weekly didactic training sessions. Attend a monthly postdoc professional development seminar. Qualifications Earned doctorate in counseling or clinical psychology from an APA‑accredited program. Completion of an APA‑accredited internship prior to the fellowship start date. Demonstrated completion of dissertation by the end of spring semester 2026. Strong clinical skills and experience with young adults and diverse client populations. Desire to work within a multidisciplinary team. Preference for candidates with experience working with young adults/college students; experience with collegiate athletes and athletic departments is not required.
