POSITION SUMMARY

Your role as an MRI Imaging Technician will involve delivering high-quality MRI procedures to our patients while maintaining a safe, clean environment. We are looking for talented individuals who are dedicated to patient care.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Formal Education/Training:

• Graduate of an ARRT approved program accredited through The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, or current ARMRIT certification.
• Compliance with CE Requirements is necessary.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire is required.

Workplace Experience:

• Preferred one year of experience in a hospital setting specifically in MRI, although new graduates willing to learn are encouraged to apply.

Equipment and Skills Training:

• General computer knowledge and a strong focus on safety.

Physical Environment:

• Experience in a large field strength magnet environment with a focus on patient safety.

Physical Effort:

• Ability to perform diverse tasks such as operating equipment, assisting patient movements, and maintaining clear communication.
• Able to lift up to 20 pounds and handle physical demands of the job.
• Willing to take calls during weekends and other necessary times.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

1. Verify patient identification and physician orders for accuracy before procedures.
2. Inquire about medical history and ensure patient comfort during the MRI process.
3. Maintain a safe environment, stopping the procedure if the patient experiences discomfort.
4. Communicate effectively with patients throughout the MRI procedure.
5. Report any issues or opportunities for improvement regarding quality of care.
6. Ensure patient dignity by maintaining proper coverage during exams.
7. Assist in different areas during downtime or high census periods.
8. Demonstrate leadership and teamwork in challenging situations.
9. Be proactive in volunteering for overtime and fill-in shifts.
10. Follow safety protocols when assisting patients.
11. Collaborate effectively with coworkers to maximize efficiency.
12. Help facilitate specialty radiology reads for urgent exams when necessary.
