Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Architect / Project Manager with 15+ years of experience working on large-scale mixed-use housing projects in the Seattle or Bay Area. As a member of our integrated design team, you will work alongside other Architects, Interior Designers, Landscape Architects, Urban Designers and Planners to advance design & technical excellence, environmental performance and social justice on a range of urban mixed-use projects. We currently collaborate in the office Monday through Thursday. Fridays can be in-office or WFH for most roles. Role & Responsibilities Represent Mithun through active engagement and leadership within the real estate, developer-led and housing-focused industry. Act as a spokesperson for the firm through thought leadership, speaking engagements, panels, writing, and industry organization or committee leadership. Participate in and lead business development, project pursuits, studies, and other marketing activities with the housing market segment. Lead and manage projects by overseeing schedules, scopes of work, budgets, staffing plans, contracts, oversight of project QA process, consultant coordination. Provide project design leadership by developing quality design solutions at all scales, leading the production of documentation for all phases of the design process, generating high-quality design drawings/graphics/visualizations to support project execution and marketing pursuits. Lead presentations for clients, communities, design review boards, and others. Explore and develop quality design ideas and innovative, thoughtful solutions that address project goals and are aligned with Mithun’s values and approach. Deliver excellent project results in collaboration with internal teams, clients and industry partners. Other responsibilities as assigned. Requirements 15+ years of post-graduate professional architecture experience, including significant experience with complex, mixed-use housing projects with over $100 million construction budgets or 500,000 gross square feet of development. Experience on high rises is a plus. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture. Demonstrated strong concept-based approach to design thinking, and enthusiasm for collaboration and sustainable & innovative design solutions and collaborative design. Experience building long-term developer client relationships; current contacts with developers working in Mithun’s core markets. Experience leading large internal and external design and technical teams, and mentoring design staff. Experience in marketing and leading compelling RFP and competition responses. Experience with land use and building permit entitlements, and familiarity with zoning codes, building codes, regulations, and construction methods. Strong communication and relationship development skills. Understanding of digital workflows. Proficient in Revit, the Adobe Creative Suite and Office Suite.
