Job Description
Our client is a full service civil, environmental, and geotechnical engineering firm located in the Richmond, VA area. They are well established and growing! This is an excellent opportunity for entry-level candidates. No experience required and training will be provided.
Responsibilities:
-Performing field materials testing of soil, asphalt and concrete.
-Preparing detailed and complete field reports with all relevant test results and observations provided.
-Performing basic laboratory tests on soil and concrete samples and preparing reports of results. Evaluating site conditions on construction projects and providing recommendations. Communicate with clients, contractors, engineering and technician staff regarding construction issues.
Qualifications:
-Prior construction and field testing is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
-Ability to read and interpret plans specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
-Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
-Must be able to work independently and within teams to achieve goals.
-Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations for field and laboratory testing.
-Must be able to walk and stand continuously through the day.
-Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
-Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record. A company vehicle will be provided for transportation between job sites.
