Job Summary:
The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all subcontractor related projects from tendering though to execution and completion. This role requires strategic leadership, operational management, and direct involvement in project costing, tender submissions, planning, and decision-making. The GM act as the second-in-command to the Ceo and has the authority to make final decisions of subcontract projects related issue in CEOS absence.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Tendering & Costing:
Lead and coordinate all subcontract tender submissions
Review project specifications, drawing, and BOQs for tender preparation
Attend tender briefings and clarification meeting with main-contractors
Collaborate with CEO to finalize and negotiate tender pricing.
Project Management & Execution:
Oversee the daily operations of all ongoing subcontract projects
Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with timeline, budget, and quality standards
Manage project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety, and contractual requirement
Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure project milestones are met
Resolve any operational or contractual issues arise with main-contractor
Leadership & Strategic Oversight:
Act as the key liaison between the company, clients, main contractors and vendors
Represent the company in meetings, negotiations, and strategic discussions
Provide leadership and direction to project and site teams
Support business growth by identifying new tender opportunities and operational improvements
Assume decision-making responsibilities in the absence of the CEO
Job Requirements:
Minimum 10-15 years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 5 years in a senior project or operations management role
Proven track record of handling sub-contract works and large-scale tender processes
Strong knowledge of project costing, construction contracts, and subcontractor coordination
Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills
Familiar with local construction regulations, safety standards, and tendering processes
Ability to work independently and take initiative, especially in high-pressure situation
