About the Opportunity:

We are representing a cutting-edge AI startup revolutionizing the field of forensic engineering . This company is leveraging advanced data analytics, machine learning, and computer vision to transform how building failures are assessed and understood. They are seeking a Forensic Structural Engineer to lead investigations into structural failures and anomalies in buildings, while collaborating with data scientists and AI engineers to develop next-generation forensic tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct forensic investigations of structural failures, damage, and performance issues in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
  • Perform site inspections, structural assessments, and documentation of observed conditions.
  • Analyze design, construction, and material deficiencies using engineering principles and modeling tools.
  • Collaborate with AI and software teams to help train and validate forensic models and diagnostic tools.
  • Prepare expert-level technical reports and provide litigation support, including deposition and testimony.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in structural forensics, guiding the development of AI-powered assessment platforms.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 8+ years of experience in structural engineering, with significant experience in forensic investigations.
  • PE license required; SE license preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, etc.), construction practices, and structural analysis software.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially in technical writing and client presentations.
  • Experience with insurance claims, legal proceedings, or expert witness testimony is highly desirable.
