Description: Reporting to the Supervisor, the Meter Tech is responsible for meter reading throughout their assigned area and regions.

Essential Functions: Working Hours: Monday- Friday 8AM-4:30PM
Pay Rate starting at $17.50/hour

Roles and Responsibilities: - Driving (75%/day) and navigating the cities in your region.
- Entering residential and commercial property to read meters and disconnect service.
- Interacting with customers to collect payment or to read the electric meter.
- Collecting cash, and other forms of payment for electric service and reconciling, reporting, and depositing drops daily.
- Working with energized electric equipment to disconnect service.
- Understanding customer service representative with a responsibility to humility and to the customers we serve.
- Working with pride and a high quality of workmanship.
- Performs other duties assigned.
Success Factors: - Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during a work shift
- Ability to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneeling
- Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions
- Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-workers
- Ability to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policy
- English usage sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reports
- Willingness and ability to learn additional skills
Experience and Education: - Two (2+) plus years of customer service experience
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year to year basis
Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications: - Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Drivers License is required within two weeks of employment.
- Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
