Responsibilities The Defense group supports the Department of Defense (DoD) mission to keep our homeland and its citizens safe. We provide solutions to improve the Nation's defense by providing software, systems engineering, IT, training, logistics, and fleet management solutions. We are seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to support the Peraton Team. Peraton offers engineering services including architecture, software development, cybersecurity engineering, testing & integration planning, system sustainment, and support for various Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC PAC) software applications and initiatives, including PEOC4I Storefront (STFNT)/AA. This includes systems engineering, software development, and sustainment to enable users to access, manipulate, and display relevant data for their missions. Currently, support areas include system administration, cybersecurity, operations and maintenance, and the analysis, assessment, and transition of emerging technologies for DoD and other government applications. What you’ll do: Design and implement innovative technologies for automating, integrating, and delivering containerized web applications and services for the DoD. Collaborate with talented professionals and subject matter experts to design, implement, and maintain mission-critical software systems that support US Navy warfighters. Utilize containers (e.g., Docker, Rancher) and orchestration tools (e.g., Helm, OpenShift) to deploy software using microservice architecture supporting Navy DevSecOps initiatives. Develop security-hardened container images compliant with DoD operational standards. Create automated CI/CD pipelines to streamline software development operations. Qualifications Required qualifications: Education & Certification: BS in STEM with 2 years of experience; MS in STEM with no experience; or HS Diploma with 6 years of relevant experience. Must obtain CompTIA Security+ certification within 30 days if not already certified. Citizenship & Clearance: US citizen, residing in San Diego metro area, able to obtain and maintain a Secret-level DoD security clearance. Experience: Minimum 2+ years in DevSecOps with experience in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Rancher), orchestration tools, Infrastructure-as-Code (Ansible, Terraform, etc.), CI/CD automation (Jenkins, GitLab), Linux OS, scripting (Bash, Python), and cybersecurity practices. Desired qualifications: Active Secret clearance. Experience with data pipeline tools (Apache NiFi, Kafka), cybersecurity tools (OpenSCAP, Snyk), secret management (HashiCorp Vault), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), full-stack development, Atlassian tools, test automation, and OIDC/OAuth configuration.
