We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team on a contract basis. This role is based in Brooklyn, New York, and offers an opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a dynamic non-profit organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping and payroll processing, with proficiency in tools like QuickBooks and Paychex.

Responsibilities:
• Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on schedule.
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• Perform bank reconciliations to maintain precise financial records.
• Manage cash deposits and billing processes efficiently.
• Collaborate with an external accounting firm to support auditing and reporting requirements.
• Oversee administrative tasks related to bookkeeping and financial operations.
• Assist with human resources-related activities, including payroll and compliance.
• Utilize Paychex software for payroll processing and reporting.
• Maintain financial documentation in QuickBooks, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Provide support during any financial reviews or audits.• Proven experience in bookkeeping, preferably in a non-profit environment.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and familiarity with Paychex payroll systems.
• Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Ability to process payroll accurately and efficiently.
• Experience managing cash deposits and billing procedures.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel is highly desirable.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
