Hours: 20–30 per week, with potential up to 40; flexible schedule. Periodic travel may be required.

Job Description:

This Art Director (Motion Media) role is responsible for creating engaging, human-driven video content. The role works closely with creative teams, producers, content managers, vendors, editors, sound engineers, and other collaborators to bring each project’s vision to life. Portfolios must be submitted with candidates. This role focuses on journalistic and purpose-driven video storytelling rather than traditional advertising. Preferred portfolio examples include docuseries, short-form social content featuring real people, user-generated content (UGC), and original interview footage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop video project concepts, crafting compelling narratives, mood boards, and storyboards.
• Conduct interviews with real people and direct talent on set to capture authentic stories.
• Provide art direction on set, including camera angles, compositions, and overall visual style.
• Maintain consistency of creative vision, tone, and quality across projects.
• Oversee the editing process, making decisions on cuts, transitions, pacing, color, sound, and effects.
• Collaborate with designers and motion graphics editors.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and staying within budget.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum 4 years of creative experience in video production within corporate or agency settings.
• Strong understanding of video production processes, including shoot direction, lighting, sound, and editing.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel for shoots as needed.
