Job Requirement: Emerging and Enterprise Mission Focus Areas Support CONTINGENT ON CONTRACT AWARD
Position Title: Aerospace Engineer (SME)
Location: HQ Space Operations Command (SpOC), Peterson Space Force Base, CO
Key Responsibilities:
Capability Delivery and Transition: - Support the delivery, operational transition, sustainment, and disposition of advanced concepts capabilities, including demonstrations, prototypes, and rapid reaction capabilities.
- Review and staff operating concepts, system concepts, sustainment planning, and system disposal planning.
Operational Transition Process: - Develop and coordinate basing and bed-down activities for new and deployable capabilities, including conducting site surveys.
- Assist in resolving future system operational and sustainment issues with organizations such as USSPACECOM, USSF, HAF, SpOC, SSC, and Deltas.
Technical Expertise: - Provide technical expertise and recommendations for Special Technical Operations (STO) planning and processes supporting multiple Combatant Commands (COCOMs).
- Assist in rapid development, acquisition, and fielding of capabilities to meet urgent operational needs.
Integration and Coordination: - Organize and support required meetings, including Combat Force Proponent Fielding Process (CFP-FP), Integrated Capability Teams (ICT), Operational Planning Teams (OPT), and Operational Acceptance Panels.
- Develop criteria IAW the Rapid Fielding of Warfighter Capabilities MOU and Responsive Operational Acceptance Process.
Space Control Systems Optimization: - Review and coordinate concepts of operations and operational issues for Offensive and Defensive Space Control systems.
- Provide inputs on Deficiency Reports, prioritize resource allocation, and coordinate data assessment processes following system hardware and software changes.
Readiness Reporting: - Monitor and provide unit/asset Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS) status to ensure compliance with Higher Headquarters (HHQ) direction.
- Review and update readiness taskers and Mission Directives for HQ SpOC-managed units.
Qualifications: Security Clearance: Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) Education: May possess a bachelors degree in Program Management, Engineering, Space Operations, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
Experience: - Minimum 15 years of experience in space operations, program management, or related fields within a government or military environment.
- Familiarity with Space Control systems and rapid acquisition processes is preferred.
Skills: - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and task management tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications: - Relevant certifications in program management or space operations are a plus.
Preferred Attributes: - Experience with rapid acquisition and fielding of space capabilities.
- Knowledge of Offensive and Defensive Space Control systems and their integration into operational environments.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Note: This position requires strict adherence to security protocols and may involve occasional travel to support operational requirements.
